Feedback from Participants about 2016 ABE Roundtable
- Excellent! Inspirational!
- Interesting to hear about what is going on in the profession at a broader level..It gave me ideas of how to engage under-served populations.
- It was very helpful to compare best practices with other programs from around the city.
- (I) will use the info from discussion to incorporate into my class lesson.
- It makes me think of ways to get information out to the masses regarding the programs where I teach.
- The final Educator's Round-table was of particular significance to me, as my professional interests are in education planning and policy, with a focus on adult learners. Despite the lack of time to further discuss the challenge of providing adult basic education services to hard-to-reach and hard-to-teach populations, I still would have liked to have left the session with perhaps two or three agreed-upon general strategies of how to better serve these populations both through individual community programs and on a city-wide scale...I would recommend continuing this discussion next year.
Feedback from Presenters about 2016 ABE Conference
Dear Committee,
I loved the workshop on using theater techniques and improvisation--the whole room full of as many of 40 people had a wonderful time; and I was very impressed by the intelligence, thoughtfulness, and joy of those in my workshop.
……
I know how much hard work goes into something like this, and I admire you for your indefatigable service to the adult literacy/ESOL community.
Best wishes always,
June Foley
Director of the Gallatin School of Writing, N.Y.U.
Dear Committee,
Thank you for your kind words about the workshop. You deserve commendation for your excellent leadership in organizing the
ABE Conference and keeping it active and alive through the years. The event benefits a lot of educators and practitioners in the field.
In addition, it convenes teachers who are committed to support ABE and ESOL programs to discuss issues and articulate their ideas, suggestions, and solutions to provide better educational services in the community.
Congratulations on the success of the conference. Thank you so much!
All the best,
Nick

everyone participated so enthusiastically. Thank you for the opportunity to share with and learn from other
teachers. See you next year.

Dear ABE Committee,
Congratulations on another exceptionally successful conference. It is so heartening to see that, with all the challenges in the field, the NYCABE conference continues to bring all of us together, nurture our community, and provide an opportunity for practitioners to share their best practices and ideas. You and your team are doing an amazing job!
