Connecting Learning Strategies to Content Retention - Learning a new term – chunking; Excellent!; Offered several strategies.
Investigating the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Core Disciplinary Idea of Natural Selection (LS4.B) -The hands on small group discussion aspects were well modeled; overview excellent!; inexpensive, hands on, cross connections/charting/timeline/cause&effect; Use of interdisciplinary materials; TASC-Science structure – nice organization.
Grammar: The What, When, Where, Why and How-Teaching grammar through context; Workshop wonderful, addressed lots of questions that teachers often ask and provided us with practical advice.
Planning Project Based Learning with ESOL/Literacy Students- Excellent structure and excellent tools; wonderful community based presentation; planning strategies for project; simplifying authentic materials The Tenement Museum and Its New Object-Based Program: ‘’Your Story… A huge database of stories for use in class, powerful online tools and information about free workshops; Gallery Walk; So Inspiring. Getting Googly: The Basics of Google Drive and Google Docs- It was amazing! I discovered new ways to use Google Drive more effectively; Learning so many functions in Google Drive
